'de-, dis-, ex-', an exhibition of artwork and animation film by Tom Beesley, was held at Bloc Projects, Sheffield in October 2016. These photos show all three parts of his exhibition: 'Escape', 'Future Primitive', and 'Beneath the Street, the Fertile Soil'. The three pieces were inspired by Tom's engagement with the 'Future Works' M.Arch studio at the University of Sheffield in 2015-16. Tom introduces the exhibition on his website:

'The title for the exhibition is taken from a publication edited by Alex Coles and Alexia Defert, examining the interdisciplinarity between art, architecture and theory.

'de-, dis-, ex-. further extends the artist’s interest in ‘anticipatory objects’. Anticipation is the act of taking up, placing, or considering something beforehand, it is ‘to take action in preparation for something that you think will happen’. The geographic term ‘anticipatory adaptation’ is used in the discussion of climate change to describe action taken before impacts are felt. The three pieces of work within the exhibition are a response to conversations around community energy, urban farming and social change.'
